Youth for Armenia is a non-profit organization committed to building a brighter future for Armenia by empowering its youth, unleashing their potential, and offering them opportunities for growth.
Established in Virginia, USA, in 2023 October by two young and dedicated high school students who happen to be cousins, Eduard Yeremyan and Maria Mane Ayvazian , Youth for Armenia NGO represents a network of young individuals hailing from the diaspora and Armenia.
During the crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020, Azerbaijan launched a military attack operation causing the displacement of 90,000 plus individuals, primarily women and children. Many decided to stay back and fight, one of which was Eduard’s father. Him and the army fought valiantly, however, it was not enough to put an end to the conflict. From 2022-2023, a 9 month long period, the Lachin Corridor, the only road connecting Armenia to Kharbak was blocked. The region spent these 9 months under horrific conditions. Most died of starvation and the cold. The fear of a second genocide sweeped over the nation and reached the International Court of Justice. On September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan launched a 24-hour offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh to disarm the region's forces, resulting in heavy casualties and the deaths of five Russian peacekeepers. Following the surrender of the Republic of Artsakh, Azerbaijan reopened the road to Armenia, prompting a mass exodus of Armenians starting on September 24.
This event is something that should not go unnoticed and forgotten, sparking the creation of Youth For Armenia. Our goal is to provide humanitarian assistance and aid to those that had a difficult time adjusting from their former lives in Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia along with providing the youth of our nation with educational opportunities and educating those in the United States about our nation and all that we have endured.
